Aggravated Assault
Neheb, the Eternal
AI DraftFeb 26, 2026

Aggravated Assault + Neheb, the Eternal

Overview
If you activate Aggravated Assault to create an additional combat phase and the following postcombat main phase, Neheb, the Eternal will trigger at the beginning of that additional postcombat main phase and add {R} equal to the life your opponents have lost this turn. Aggravated Assault’s activation untaps your creatures before the extra combat, letting Neheb attack again; the life lost during those combats counts toward Neheb’s trigger that resolves at the beginning of the postcombat main phase .
Step 1
You are in a main phase and have priority; activate Aggravated Assault’s ability by paying {3}{R}{R} (activation is only legal as a sorcery during a main phase) .
Step 2
Aggravated Assault’s ability resolves: untap all creatures you control, then after this main phase there will be an additional combat phase followed by an additional main phase (that additional main phase is a postcombat main phase).
Step 3
Move through the additional combat phase created by Aggravated Assault. Declare attackers and resolve combat normally; any life your opponents lose during that combat (from unblocked attackers dealing combat damage or triggered life-loss effects such as afflict when a creature becomes blocked) is recorded as life lost this turn .
Step 4
When the additional combat finishes, the additional main phase begins. At the beginning of that postcombat main phase, Neheb’s triggered ability triggers because it triggers at the beginning of each of your postcombat main phases.
Step 5
The triggered ability goes on the stack and later resolves, adding {R} equal to the total life your opponents have lost so far this turn (including life lost in earlier combats this turn) .
Step 6
You may now use that mana during that postcombat main phase; you can also activate Aggravated Assault again (if you have the mana and priority) to create another extra combat and another postcombat main phase, which will cause Neheb to trigger again at the beginning of each subsequent postcombat main phase you create [2004-10-04].
Resolution
Activate Aggravated Assault (only as a sorcery during a main phase) to get an extra combat phase followed by an additional postcombat main phase; when that postcombat main phase begins, Neheb’s ability triggers and, when it resolves, adds {R} for each 1 life your opponents have lost this turn. If Neheb leaves the battlefield before that postcombat main phase begins, its ability won’t trigger [2017-07-14] . You may activate Aggravated Assault multiple times in a turn to create multiple extra combats/main phases if you can pay the costs [2004-10-04].
