Bloodthirsty Conqueror + Enduring Tenacity

Overview
If the same player controls Bloodthirsty Conqueror and Enduring Tenacity and an opponent loses a positive amount of life, the two triggered abilities can repeatedly trigger and resolve in a loop: Conqueror's trigger causes its controller to gain life, that life gain triggers Tenacity, Tenacity causes an opponent to lose that much life, that loss triggers Conqueror again, and so on. Each cycle is a separate triggered-life-loss and life-gain event and will continue until some external effect stops it or a player loses the game due to having 0 or less life .
Step 1
An initial effect causes an opponent to lose X life (X > 0). Damage causes loss of life as described in and Ruling [2024-11-08].
Step 2
That loss of life causes Bloodthirsty Conqueror’s triggered ability (“Whenever an opponent loses life, you gain that much life”) to trigger and be put on the stack.
Step 3
When Conqueror’s trigger resolves, its controller gains X life. The life gain is a separate event; if it is 0, nothing further happens for that event .
Step 4
Concurrently, Enduring Tenacity’s triggered ability (“Whenever you gain life, target opponent loses that much life”) sees the life-gain event and triggers, being put on the stack. Each life-gain event creates its own Tenacity trigger; you may choose the target opponent for each trigger when that trigger is put on the stack as usual (see Ruling [2024-09-20]).
Step 5
When Tenacity’s trigger resolves, its chosen target opponent loses X life (again causing a loss-of-life event under and Ruling [2024-11-08]).
Step 6
That loss-of-life event causes Bloodthirsty Conqueror to trigger again, producing another Conqueror trigger for X life, repeating the sequence.
Step 7
After each trigger resolves the game performs state-based checks as described in ; if any player has 0 or less life, they lose the game under , which will stop the loop.
Resolution
When the controller of Bloodthirsty Conqueror is also the controller of Enduring Tenacity and an opponent loses >0 life, the pair creates a repeating chain of triggered abilities (gain → lose → gain → ...) where each resolution creates the next trigger. State-based actions are checked between resolutions, so the loop ends if a player’s life becomes 0 or less and they lose the game under ; otherwise it continues until another effect prevents the life changes. If the two cards are controlled by different players, the loop only occurs if the Conqueror’s life gain is being gained by the controller of Tenacity (i.e., Tenacity’s controller must be the one gaining life) .
