Jidoor, Aristocratic Capital // Overture + Riverchurn Monument

Overview
Jidoor, Aristocratic Capital // Overture (the Adventure) mills the targeted opponent for half their library, then that card is exiled and may be played later as a land. Riverchurn Monument can be activated to mill fixed amounts or (its Exhaust ability) to mill an amount equal to the number of cards in each targeted player’s graveyard when that Exhaust ability resolves. If Jidoor Overture resolves before Riverchurn Monument’s exhaust ability resolves, the cards milled by Overture increase the graveyard totals and so increase the amount Monument will mill when its exhaust ability resolves. If Monument’s exhaust resolves first, it uses the graveyard counts at its resolution and will not retroactively see cards that will be milled later by Jidoor. The timing interaction of “when something is on the stack and later resolution” and the special rule about Exhaust-triggered abilities are relevant; see the official ruling below. Ruling [2025-02-07] applies if something triggers when you activate an Exhaust ability: that triggered ability resolves before the Exhaust ability resolves.
Step 1
Cast and resolve Jidoor, Aristocratic Capital // Overture: its Adventure resolves, target opponent mills half their library (rounded down), then Jidoor is exiled and you may later play the land from exile.
Step 2
Activate Riverchurn Monument’s Exhaust ability and put it on the stack, targeting the same player(s). When that exhaust ability resolves it will mill cards equal to the number of cards in each targeted player’s graveyard at the moment the exhaust ability resolves.
Step 3
If Jidoor’s Adventure resolved prior to the exhaust ability resolving, the cards put into the graveyard by the Adventure are counted by the exhaust ability and increase the number milled when Monument’s exhaust resolves.
Step 4
If Monument’s exhaust resolves before Jidoor’s Adventure resolves (i.e., Monument’s exhaust is on the stack and nothing causes Jidoor’s Adventure to resolve first), Monument uses the graveyard totals at that moment and Jidoor’s later milling won’t retroactively increase what Monument already did.
Step 5
If an ability triggered by activating Monument’s Exhaust ability exists, Ruling [2025-02-07] says that triggered ability will resolve before the Exhaust ability resolves; that can affect the game state seen by the Exhaust ability when it resolves.
Resolution
The two cards interact predictably: Monument’s exhaust ability mills an amount equal to the number of cards in each targeted player’s graveyard as of the time that exhaust ability resolves. If Jidoor Overture has already resolved and been put into exile (after having milled half of that opponent’s library into their graveyard), Monument’s exhaust will see the larger graveyard and mill correspondingly more. If Monument’s exhaust resolves first, it uses the then-current graveyard sizes and Jidoor’s later resolution won’t retroactively increase the already-resolved exhaust effect. Also note the official Ruling [2025-02-07] about any triggered ability that watches for activating an Exhaust ability: that trigger resolves before the Exhaust ability itself resolves.
