Mechanized Production
Obeka, Splitter of Seconds
AI DraftFeb 26, 2026

Mechanized Production + Obeka, Splitter of Seconds

Overview
If Obeka deals combat damage to a player, it creates additional upkeeps after the current phase, and Mechanized Production will trigger at the beginning of each of those additional upkeeps to create a token copy of the enchanted artifact; each trigger resolves separately and, after creating its token, immediately checks the win condition (note that the ordering of multiple added phases follows Ruling [2024-04-12] and the win condition requires eight or more artifacts, not permanents of mixed types, per Ruling [2017-02-09]).
Step 1
Obeka deals combat damage to a player and its triggered ability resolves, creating one or more additional upkeep steps after the current phase (this is what Obeka's oracle text instructs).
Step 2
Those additional beginning-of-upkeep steps are inserted after the current phase; if more than one phase was added at the same point, they occur in most-recent-first order as explained in Ruling [2024-04-12].
Step 3
At the beginning of each of those additional upkeep steps, Mechanized Production’s triggered ability triggers (it reads "At the beginning of your upkeep, create a token that's a copy of enchanted artifact...").
Step 4
Each Mechanized Production trigger is put onto the stack and resolves separately; when a trigger resolves it creates a token that's a copy of the enchanted artifact (the token enters the battlefield as that copy). If replacement effects that would cause an entering object to become a copy are applicable, those replacement interactions are handled per and self-replacement effects per .
Step 5
Immediately after creating that token, the ability evaluates the next clause: "Then if you control eight or more artifacts with the same name as one another, you win the game." If you now control eight or more artifacts with the same name, you win at that time (Ruling [2017-02-09] clarifies that they must be artifacts).
Step 6
If the trigger resolves without producing a token (for example, if the enchantment is no longer attached to an artifact and therefore there is no "enchanted artifact" to copy), no token is created and the win check will reflect whatever artifacts you actually control at that moment.
Resolution
Obeka’s triggered ability can create one or more additional upkeeps after the current phase; Mechanized Production will trigger at the beginning of each such additional upkeep and, when each trigger resolves, it creates a token that is a copy of the enchanted artifact and then checks the "eight or more artifacts with the same name" win condition. If, after a trigger resolves and its token is created, you control eight or more artifacts with the same name, you immediately win the game (the requirement that those eight permanents be artifacts is clarified by Ruling [2017-02-09]). If multiple additional phases were created at the same point, the most recently created additional phase happens first per Ruling [2024-04-12]. If any replacement effects would cause an entering object to become a copy as it enters the battlefield, those replacement effects are handled according to (and self-replacement effects under ).
