Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might // Temple of Power
Pyrohemia
AI DraftFeb 26, 2026

Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might // Temple of Power + Pyrohemia

Overview
While Ojer Axonil (the creature face) is on the battlefield and you control Pyrohemia, each time you activate Pyrohemia’s {R} ability the damage event to each opponent is checked against Ojer Axonil’s replacement effect. If the printed damage (1) is less than Ojer Axonil’s power, that damage to each opponent is replaced by damage equal to Ojer Axonil’s power. The damage dealt (the replaced amount) counts toward Temple of Power’s “red sources you controlled dealt 4 or more noncombat damage this turn” total, per Ruling [2023-11-10]. Damage to creatures from Pyrohemia remains 1 because Ojer’s replacement effect applies only to damage to opponents. See and .
Step 1
You activate Pyrohemia’s ability by paying {R}; the ability is put on the stack and (if it resolves) is an event that will deal damage when it resolves.
Step 2
When that Pyrohemia ability would deal damage, replacement effects that modify that damage are checked and applied. Ojer Axonil’s static replacement-like effect is a continuous effect that modifies damage amounts; if the printed amount (1) is less than Ojer’s current power P, the damage that would be dealt to each opponent is replaced with P .
Step 3
The resolved damage event deals damage to each player and each creature. For each opponent, the amount dealt is either 1 (if P ≤ 1 or Ojer isn’t applying) or P (if P > 1 and Ojer is present). Damage to creatures remains 1 because Ojer’s text applies only to damage to an opponent .
Step 4
Each opponent who was actually dealt damage loses that much life from the damage dealt; those life-loss events are the result of the damage being dealt to players .
Step 5
For Temple of Power’s transform condition, add up the noncombat damage that red sources you controlled actually dealt this turn. The damage that was dealt after replacement is what counts, and you only have to have controlled the red source at the time the damage was dealt (Ruling [2023-11-10]).
Step 6
If the total noncombat damage dealt by red sources you controlled this turn reaches 4 or more (counting the modified Pyrohemia damage amounts to opponents as their full dealt values), you meet Temple of Power’s activation restriction for transforming it later in the turn (subject to sorcery timing).
Resolution
Each activation of Pyrohemia’s {R} can deal more than the printed 1 damage to opponents if Ojer Axonil is present and has higher power: the static replacement effect on Ojer replaces the amount that would be dealt to each opponent with Ojer’s power if the printed amount is less. Each such (possibly increased) amount that is actually dealt to opponents counts toward Temple of Power’s “4 or more noncombat damage this turn” requirement (you only need to have controlled the red source at the time the damage was dealt) — Ruling [2023-11-10] and .
