Aftermath Analyst + Shifting Woodland + Squandered Resources

Overview
Aftermath Analyst can mill lands into your graveyard and can be sacrificed to return all land cards from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped (its sacrifice ability is a normal activated ability on the Analyst). Shifting Woodland returned this way will enter the battlefield tapped (an effect that modifies how it enters applies as it enters) . If Shifting Woodland on the battlefield is a land that can produce mana (for example it’s a Forest or a copy of a land that produces mana), Sacrificing it to Squandered Resources (an activated ability whose cost is “Sacrifice a land”) is a mana ability that resolves immediately and will add one mana of any type the sacrificed land could produce . If Shifting Woodland has become a copy of a nonland permanent and therefore is not a land when you try to use Squandered Resources, it won’t be a legal object to sacrifice for “Sacrifice a land.” Effects and counters that applied to Shifting Woodland before it became a copy continue to apply after it becomes a copy [Ruling 2024-06-07]; if the sacrificed land could not produce any mana, you can still sacrifice it but you get no mana from Squandered Resources [Ruling 2004-10-04].
Step 1
Cast Aftermath Analyst and let it enter the battlefield; its enters-the-battlefield trigger mills three cards into your graveyard (that can put lands and other card types into the graveyard).
Step 2
Activate and pay the cost {3}{G} and sacrifice Aftermath Analyst to return all land cards from your graveyard to the battlefield tapped; the lands returned enter the battlefield and any effects that modify how they enter are applied as they enter .
Step 3
Shifting Woodland returned this way simply enters the battlefield tapped. It is now a land permanent on the battlefield and has its printed text and any continuous effects that apply to it .
Step 4
If you meet Delirium (four or more card types in your graveyard) and you choose to activate Shifting Woodland’s Delirium ability, you may pay {2}{G}{G} to have Shifting Woodland become a copy of a target permanent card in your graveyard until end of turn; after the copy effect resolves, the Woodland has the copied permanent’s characteristics, except any effects or counters that applied to the Woodland before it became a copy continue to apply [Ruling 2024-06-07].
Step 5
If you want to use Squandered Resources now, activate its ability (pay the cost ‘Sacrifice a land’). Squandered Resources’ ability is a mana ability if it has no target and could add mana, so it resolves immediately after activation and does not go on the stack .
Step 6
As part of activating Squandered Resources you choose a land you control to sacrifice as the cost; that land is sacrificed and moves to the graveyard when you activate the ability (costs are paid as part of activation). Because the ability is a mana ability, it resolves immediately and then adds one mana of any type the sacrificed land could produce at that time .
Step 7
If the sacrificed land (for example Shifting Woodland) could not produce any mana when it was sacrificed, Squandered Resources adds no mana (you can still sacrifice it) [Ruling 2004-10-04].
Step 8
If Shifting Woodland had become a copy of a nonland permanent and so was not a land at the time you attempted to activate Squandered Resources, it would not be a legal object to sacrifice for the cost “Sacrifice a land.” Use of Squandered Resources requires sacrificing a permanent that is a land when you pay that cost .
Resolution
Aftermath Analyst returning Shifting Woodland to the battlefield: Shifting Woodland enters tapped due to the enter-the-battlefield replacement/static effect . If Shifting Woodland on the battlefield is a land that can produce one or more colors (for example it’s a Forest, or it has become a copy of a land that produces mana), you may activate Squandered Resources and sacrifice that land as the cost; because Squandered Resources’ ability is a mana ability (it has no target and could add mana), it resolves immediately after activation and adds one mana of any type the sacrificed land could produce . If Shifting Woodland has become a copy of a nonland and is no longer a land, it cannot be sacrificed to pay the “Sacrifice a land” cost. If the sacrificed land could not produce mana, you get no mana from Squandered Resources [Ruling 2004-10-04]. Effects and counters that applied to Shifting Woodland before it became a copy still apply after it becomes a copy [Ruling 2024-06-07].
