Hermit Druid
Thassa's Oracle
AI DraftFeb 26, 2026

Hermit Druid + Thassa's Oracle

Overview
If you cast Thassa's Oracle and its ETB triggered ability is on the stack, you may activate Hermit Druid in response; if Hermit Druid’s ability reveals your entire library (no basic lands) and puts all those cards into your graveyard, then when Thassa’s Oracle’s triggered ability resolves it will see X (your devotion to blue) and the current number of cards in your library (0) and you will win the game, per the Oracle text and the Hermit Druid ruling Ruling [2025-01-24].
Step 1
Cast Thassa's Oracle; when it enters the battlefield its triggered ability is created and put on the stack (you get priority with that trigger on the stack) .
Step 2
In response to the Oracle's ETB trigger, activate Hermit Druid's ability by paying {G} and tapping it so that its ability goes on the stack above Oracle's trigger .
Step 3
Resolve Hermit Druid's ability: reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a basic land card, put that basic land into your hand (if any), and put all other revealed cards into your graveyard; if you revealed your entire library without revealing a basic land, all revealed cards go into your graveyard (Hermit Druid ruling) Ruling [2025-01-24] .
Step 4
After Hermit Druid's ability finishes resolving your library may now be empty (0 cards) if you revealed everything; then the Oracle ETB trigger resolves while Thassa's Oracle is on the battlefield and computes X as your current devotion to blue (which counts Oracle's {U}{U} if it is on the battlefield) Ruling [2020-01-24].
Step 5
Thassa's Oracle's triggered ability checks whether X is greater than or equal to the number of cards in your library; with the library at 0 cards this condition is met (X ≥ 0) and you win the game per Oracle's instruction .
Resolution
Activate Hermit Druid in response to Thassa’s Oracle’s enter-the-battlefield trigger; if Hermit Druid mills your whole library (no basic lands), Thassa’s Oracle’s triggered ability will resolve with your library empty and you will win the game (Hermit Druid behavior: Ruling [2025-01-24]; timing/stack: ; card wording: ).
