Overview

You can sacrifice Gravecrawler to Viscera Seer (the sacrifice is paid as a cost), which causes Gravecrawler to be put into your graveyard , triggering Pitiless Plunderer to create a Treasure token. The triggered Treasure ability will be put on the stack to resolve before the activated Viscera Seer ability resolves . If you then meet Gravecrawler's casting condition, you may cast it from your graveyard again; once Gravecrawler is on the stack, losing the Zombie that enabled its casting doesn't undo that cast [Ruling [2011-01-22]].

Step 1

Start with Viscera Seer and Pitiless Plunderer on the battlefield and at least one Gravecrawler either on the battlefield or in your graveyard depending on the sequence you want to do.

Step 2

To use Viscera Seer to sacrifice a Gravecrawler: activate Viscera Seer’s ability. Sacrificing a creature to pay the cost is done while paying costs; the creature is then put into its owner’s graveyard .

Step 3

When the Gravecrawler is put into the graveyard that event (a creature you control died) causes Pitiless Plunderer’s triggered ability to trigger. That triggered ability is created and will be put on the stack in the normal way for triggered abilities .

Step 4

After the activation completes, the activated Viscera Seer ability is placed on the stack, and the triggered Pitiless Plunderer ability is placed on the stack such that the Treasure trigger will resolve before the Viscera Seer ability resolves (stack ordering: ).

Step 5

When the Pitiless Plunderer trigger resolves you create a Treasure token. Then the Viscera Seer activated ability resolves and you Scry 1.

Step 6

With the Treasure token available you can spend it for mana to cast Gravecrawler from your graveyard if you meet Gravecrawler’s casting condition (you control a Zombie). Once you’ve cast Gravecrawler and it’s on the stack, losing control of that other Zombie does not undo the cast (Ruling [2011-01-22]).

Step 7

If multiple creatures die at once (for example, if Pitiless dies at the same time as other creatures), Pitiless will still trigger for each other creature that died (Ruling [2018-01-19] and multiple-card graveyard ordering ).

Resolution

When you activate Viscera Seer and sacrifice Gravecrawler as part of that activation, Gravecrawler is sacrificed and put into your graveyard (see ). That death triggers Pitiless Plunderer; the triggered ability is placed on the stack and will resolve before the Viscera Seer activated ability resolves (stack interactions: ). If multiple creatures die at the same time, Pitiless Plunderer will trigger for each other creature that died (Ruling [2018-01-19]). Once you have cast Gravecrawler and it is on the stack, losing control of the Zombie that enabled the cast does not change that (Ruling [2011-01-22]).
