The Battlefield

Camellia, the Seedmiser
Viscera Seer
Ygra, Eater of All
AI DraftFeb 26, 2026

Camellia, the Seedmiser + Viscera Seer + Ygra, Eater of All

Overview
With Ygra, Eater of All on the battlefield, your other creatures are also Foods; if you sacrifice one of those creatures to Viscera Seer (or as a cost such as Camellia’s Forage or Ygra’s Ward), that sacrifice counts as sacrificing a Food and both Camellia, the Seedmiser’s trigger and Ygra’s trigger will trigger. The triggers are created after the creature is put into a graveyard from the battlefield; you then order and resolve them normally. Note you can’t use one Food to pay multiple costs at once (Ruling [2024-11-08]) and affected creatures retain their other types (Ruling [2024-07-26]).
Step 1
You activate Viscera Seer’s ability (announce activation). Viscera Seer’s activation requires you to sacrifice a creature as part of paying its cost.
Step 2
As you pay that cost you sacrifice one of your creatures. If Ygra is on the battlefield, that sacrificed creature is also a Food because Ygra makes other creatures into Foods (Ruling [2024-07-26]).
Step 3
When the creature is put into the graveyard from the battlefield, triggered abilities that care about Foods being put into the graveyard trigger: Camellia, the Seedmiser’s "Whenever you sacrifice one or more Foods" and Ygra’s "Whenever a Food is put into a graveyard from the battlefield" both trigger.
Step 4
Those triggers are put on the stack. The active player or players order the triggers as appropriate and then they resolve in that order, creating a 1/1 Squirrel from Camellia’s trigger and putting two +1/+1 counters on Ygra for each Food that went to the graveyard.
Step 5
If the sacrifice was made to pay an additional cost (for example Sacrificing a Food to pay Ygra’s Ward when Ygra is targeted, or sacrificing a Food to pay Camellia’s Forage alternative cost), that sacrifice still counts as a sacrifice of a Food and will trigger Camellia and Ygra. However, you can’t sacrifice the same Food to pay multiple costs at once (Ruling [2024-11-08]).
Resolution
If you control Ygra, Camellia, and Viscera Seer and you sacrifice a creature (which is a Food because of Ygra) to Viscera Seer’s ability, that creature being put into your graveyard from the battlefield causes Camellia’s "Whenever you sacrifice one or more Foods" to trigger and also causes Ygra’s "Whenever a Food is put into a graveyard from the battlefield" to trigger; those triggers are put on the stack and resolve in the usual order. If the sacrifice was made to pay an additional cost (for example to pay Ygra’s Ward or Camellia’s Forage), the same effects occur, but you may not sacrifice the same Food to pay multiple costs at once (Ruling [2024-11-08]).
