Aggravated Assault
Ancient Copper Dragon
AI DraftFeb 26, 2026

Aggravated Assault + Ancient Copper Dragon

Overview
Activate Aggravated Assault in your postcombat main phase to untap Ancient Copper Dragon and create an additional combat phase; Ancient Copper Dragon can attack again in that extra combat and its "Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player" ability will trigger each time it deals combat damage, creating Treasure tokens equal to each d20 result [Ruling 2023-09-01].
Step 1
Attack and deal combat damage with Ancient Copper Dragon in the first combat; as combat damage is dealt its triggered ability ("Whenever this creature deals combat damage to a player…") triggers and is placed on the stack in the damage step’s aftermath .
Step 2
Proceed to your postcombat main phase (this is the normal time to use Aggravated Assault) and, while you have priority during that main phase, activate Aggravated Assault’s {3}{R}{R} ability, paying its cost; you may only activate it as a sorcery during a main phase when you have priority [Ruling 2023-09-01].
Step 3
When Aggravated Assault resolves it untaps all creatures you control and creates an additional combat phase followed by an additional main phase after this main phase [card text].
Step 4
Because creatures were untapped, you may declare attackers in the new additional combat; Ancient Copper Dragon is eligible to attack again if it was under your control since the turn began (it meets the requirement in ) and is untapped.
Step 5
If Ancient Copper Dragon deals combat damage to a player in the extra combat, it triggers again; each time it deals combat damage to a player that event creates a separate triggered ability that will be put on the stack after damage is dealt .
Step 6
When each of those triggers resolves you roll a d20 and create that many Treasure tokens for that trigger’s resolution (each trigger resolves independently).
Step 7
You may activate Aggravated Assault again (multiple activations are allowed if you have the mana) to create further additional combats, producing another opportunity for the Dragon to deal damage and trigger again [Ruling 2004-10-04].
Resolution
You may untap Ancient Copper Dragon with Aggravated Assault during your postcombat main phase and then have it attack in the additional combat; each time it deals combat damage to a player that event causes its triggered ability to trigger and, when those triggers resolve, you roll the d20 and create that many Treasure tokens for each trigger [Ruling 2023-09-01] [Ruling 2004-10-04].
