Overview

Mikaeus gives all your non-Human creatures +1/+1 and undying, Warren Soultrader can sacrifice another creature as a cost to create a Treasure, and Zulaport Cutthroat triggers whenever it or another creature you control dies. Sacrificing Zulaport to Warren’s activated ability causes Zulaport to die (the term dies is defined by rule ) and its death trigger will go on the stack; Mikaeus’s undying grant will cause any other non-Human creature you control that was put into a graveyard without a +1/+1 counter to return to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter when its undying trigger resolves (see the specific ruling about simultaneous deaths with Mikaeus [Ruling 2018-12-07]).

Step 1

You activate Warren Soultrader’s ability, paying any costs (including paying 1 life) and sacrificing another creature as part of the cost; sacrificing a creature as a cost puts that creature into its owner’s graveyard (it dies) .

Step 2

When the sacrificed creature is put into the graveyard, state-based actions are checked immediately as part of the game’s normal processing , and any triggered abilities caused by that event are noted and will be put on the stack in the normal way (for example, Zulaport Cutthroat’s triggered ability triggers when it or another creature you control dies) [Ruling 2021-03-19].

Step 3

If the sacrificed creature was a Human (such as Zulaport Cutthroat), Mikaeus’s ‘other non-Human creatures you control get +1/+1 and have undying’ does not grant undying to that Human, so Mikaeus’s undying bonus does not cause that Human to return .

Step 4

If a non-Human creature you control is put into the graveyard without having any +1/+1 counters, Mikaeus’s granted undying is a triggered ability and will trigger, and when that undying trigger resolves the creature returns to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter on it ; note that Mikaeus’s static +1/+1 bonus is not a +1/+1 counter and therefore does not prevent undying from triggering.

Step 5

All death triggers (for example Zulaport’s life-drain triggers and any undying triggers) will be placed on the stack after state-based actions are checked and resolved in timestamp order and then resolved normally, causing life changes and returns to the battlefield as each trigger resolves .

Step 6

If multiple creatures die simultaneously, each applicable triggered ability is generated for each creature that died (Zulaport triggers for each creature that died and undying triggers for each non-Human that qualifies) [Ruling 2021-03-19] [Ruling 2018-12-07].

Resolution

If you activate Warren Soultrader’s ability and sacrifice Zulaport Cutthroat as the cost, Zulaport is put into your graveyard (dies) and its triggered ability will be put on the stack and eventually resolve, causing each opponent to lose 1 life and you to gain 1 life; Mikaeus’s undying effect does not apply to Zulaport because Zulaport is a Human, but it does apply to any non-Human creatures you control that die without a +1/+1 counter and will return them with a +1/+1 counter when undying resolves (see simultaneous-death ruling for undying with Mikaeus [Ruling 2018-12-07] and Zulaport’s multi-death trigger ruling [Ruling 2021-03-19]).
